چکیده

A new design methodology based on a unified treatment of all the regions of operation of the MOS transistor is proposed. It is intended for the design of CMOS analog circuits and especially suited for low power circuits where the moderate inversion region often is used because it provides a good compromise between speed and power consumption. The synthesis procedure is based on the relation between the ratio of the transconductance over dc drain current g m / I D and the normalized current Io /( W / L ) . The g m /ID indeed is a universal characteristic of all the transistors belonging to a same process. It may be derived from experimental measurements and fitted with simple analytical models. The method was applied successfully to the design of a silicon-on-insulator (SOI) micropower operational transconductance amplifier (OTA).

Output-Conductance Transition-Free Method for Improving Radio-Frequency Linearity of SOI MOSFET Circuits

In this article, a novel concept is introduced to improve the radio frequency (RF) linearity of partially-depleted (PD) silicon-on-insulator (SOI) MOSFET circuits. The transition due to the non-zero body resistance (RBody) in output conductance of PD SOI devices leads to linearity degradation. A relation for RBody is defined to eliminate the transition and a method to obtain transition-free c...

Behavioral Modeling and Simulation of Semiconductor Devices and Circuits Using VHDL-AMS

During the past few years, a lot of work has been done on behavioral models and simulation tools. But a need for modeling strategy still remains. The VHDL-AMS language supports the description of analog electronic circuits using Ordinary Differential Algebraic Equations (ODAEs), in addition to its support for describing discrete-event systems. For VHDL-AMS to be useful to the analog design ...
